Born into a family of musicians, he began piano and music theory for 4 years, that instrument study and the classic organ for over ten years.At age 10 he began classical percussion at the conservatory with his cousin Alain Bouchaux, percussionist and jazz drummer and variety. He continued this way for the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris, where he was part of the first graduating class at appointed times for music. There is also studying to become trombone at that time his main instrument. After quitting school studies to devote himself entirely to music it continues conservatory percussion and trombone.He plays various classical ensembles (brass, symphony) and jazz (big band) which allows him to play in several European countries. Finally he enlisted in the Navy and the music continues in parallel. Having traveled extensively and holds two patents State sports instructor, he settled in Aix en Provence and Marseille as an educator working with troubled youth, an activity that allows him to combine music through workshops. He then decided to focus on new music and mainly the Drums. For 7 years, he leaves several weeks a year in New York to studie with Ian Froman, professor at Berklee College of Music and had the chance to study with Bernard Purdie, Ari Hoenig and Jim Black. He also has luck to study with Bernard Purdie, Ari Hoenig et Jim Black. Very active drummer, he contributes to various projects in different styles. He play with a lot of musicans and singers, like Véronique Mula, Michel Montoyat, or the american bluesmans Jonathan Kalb and Adrian Byron Burns. Carl Bouchaux has played and/or recorded with Adrian Byron Burns, Bernard Abeille, Ben Aronov, Julien Baudry, Christian Bon, Jacques Boulan, Eric Casanova, Francesco Castellani, Manu Decormis, Jean Dionisi, Laure Donnat, Arnaud Farcy, Jean-Christophe Gautier, Mélodie Gerstenecker, Benjamine Girolami, Lucie Jean, Jonathan Kalb, Franck Lamiot, Eric Le Cardinal, Roger Mennillo, Véronique Mula, Jean-François Merlin, Michel Montoyat, Vincent Nasri, Jean-Charles Parisi, Jean-Yves Soler, Florence Tu Hong, Corinne Van Gysel… While pursuing his instrumental research and projects, he uses his musical knowledge and his experiences as an educator and pedagogue teaching drums, cajon and musical training. He comes to M.J.C. Venelles, privately and regularly gives master class for drummers. Founder of Jazz in Provence he conducts workshops for Jazz musicians and singers and organizes regular jam sessions of Jazz and Rythm in the south of France.
